Editorial method
How a bidet earns a recommendation.
Every pick starts with one boring but important question: will this actually work in a normal person's bathroom? Features come after fit, installation, reliability, and the honest limits of our evidence.
The evidence labels
Hands-on
Damon used, installed, measured, or directly compared the product. The page says what was actually done.
Spec-verified
A claim is checked against the manufacturer, manual, certification, or another primary source.
Owner pattern
A recurring benefit or complaint appears across multiple independent owner reports. One dramatic review is not a pattern.
Research pick
The recommendation is based on verified specifications, fit, price position, and review patterns, but has not been personally tested by Damon.
What we check
Fit before features
Toilet shape, bolt spacing, tank clearance, outlet access, and plumbing decide whether a product is useful at all.
Install and safety
We check connection type, included hardware, backflow protection where relevant, and the points owners most often get wrong.
Comfort and control
Pressure range, warm-water behavior, controls, nozzle position, and useful seat features matter more than a giant feature list.
Complaint patterns
Leaks, cracking parts, confusing instructions, poor support, and suspicious review patterns can remove a product from consideration.
Value, not just price
The cheapest option is not a bargain if it fits badly or fails early. Expensive extras have to earn their space.
Independence
Affiliate payout never moves a product up a list. Sponsored placement would be labeled and kept out of editorial rankings.
How pages stay current
Product links and catalog details are checked on a schedule. Buyer guides are drafted by the content system, then revenue pages require a human evidence review before publication. Corrections are welcome at hello@bidetmon.com.
This is not a lab, and not every recommendation is hands-on. The label on each page tells you what the claim is built on. That is less theatrical than pretending every toilet seat survived a NASA test chamber, but considerably more useful.
